As Director of Family Engagement & Central Tots, Shira Kobren Wasserman has the honor and privilege of helping Judaism come alive for some of Central’s youngest members and their equally curious grown-ups. Taking a lead from her musical, enthusiastic family, and the rich Jewish traditions on which she was raised, Shira is passionate about making Judaism accessible and fun for anyone who wants to participate. Shira is a trained actress with a BFA in drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Before joining Central, she performed in plays, films, TV shows, and commercials. When she is not singing and exploring with the families at Central, you can find her performing with her “kindie” rock band, Shira & Friends. Shira is a songwriter, and Shira & Friends has released two albums, “B’yachad” (2020) and “When You’re A Kid” (2012).
