A Simple Act of Preparedness Saves a Life: Narcan Training in Action
While on a recent teen trip to Philadelphia, Central Synagogue staff member Eve Morin and our teens encountered an unconscious person on the sidewalk. Acting quickly, the teens called 911, and Eve administered Narcan—a life-saving step made possible by her training at Central with Dr. John Avery, Director of Addiction Psychiatry at Weill Cornell. Inspired by this powerful experience, the teens are now eager to get trained themselves. Join us November 21 to learn how Narcan can empower you to make a difference.

Post-Election Statement from Clergy
With this unprecedented and polarizing Presidential election over, we wanted to acknowledge the many highly personal responses among all of us – whether distress, elation, concern, vindication, uncertainty or anything in between. Central is a diverse community in every way, including how we voted in the polls. While this can feel like a challenge in a divisive election, the multiplicity of views within our community is actually one of our greatest strengths. In a world of echo chambers and ideological bubbles, learning how to pray, sing, and serve others across our lines of difference can model how our country should now move forward.
