Born and raised in the Jewish community in the Greater Boston area, Jonathan attended Jewish day school from kindergarten through high school and spent his summers at Camp Young Judaea in Amherst, NH. His upbringing instilled in him a strong foundation of Jewish values, the Hebrew language, and the love of Israel. Following his high school graduation from Gann Academy, he attended Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, and earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Music. After graduating in 2020, Jonathan began his career as a Jewish educator as a teacher for pre-k at Temple Emanuel Preschool in Newton, MA. After two wonderful and growth-filled years, he moved to Brooklyn and began working as a substitute teacher and administrative assistant at Park Avenue Synagogue Congregational School. Jonathan's work is guided by his passion for Jewish learning, music, and a sense of lightness and fun. When he is not at LCLJ, he enjoys cycling in Prospect Park or performing in venues around the city with his band.
