Amanda is so excited to be a member of the LCLJ staff! She is originally from North Caldwell, NJ and grew up attending USY events, helping with tutoring Hebrew at the synagogue where her Mom teaches, and enthusiastically participating in the HaZamir teen choir. She earned a B.A. in Jewish studies and politics from Oberlin College and an M.S.Ed. in museum and childhood education from Bank Street Graduate School of Education. She has been working in the education departments at museums and cultural institutions around New York City for the past eight years, including the Wildlife Conservation Society, the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine (where she taught interfaith programming), and the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum. Most recently, Amanda was a third-grade associate teacher at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School.
In her free time, Amanda enjoys going to see musical theater, visiting museums, taking long walks in Inwood Hill Park, and cooking.
