Our congregation came together for a congregational town hall meeting on Tuesday, March 5, at 6:00 pm in our Main Sanctuary. At this gathering, Rabbi Angela Buchdahl shared findings from our recently completed High Holy Days Experience Survey, and discussed some of the changes that are being proposed, including improvements to our High Holy Days service schedule. We hope to be able to answer some preliminary questions with this FAQ.

Earlier this year, the Confirmation class at Central Synagogue asked for more opportunities to travel, learn, and experience Jewish faith and tradition beyond New York City. The 11^th graders traveled to Rome to explore the city and see how Jewish life compares to life at home.

In 1967 Central Synagogue welcomed a surviving Sefer Torah rescued from the Holocaust. A dedication ceremony was held for the scroll whose origins reside in Lipnik, Czechoslovakia.
