Submitting an Absentee Ballot for the Upcoming Election

May 19, 2020 | General News

On June 23, 2020, there will be State and Federal primary elections in many New York City districts even if there is not a Democratic primary, which is currently under appeal in the courts. However, everyone can request an Absentee Ballot.

Under Governor Cuomo’s Executive Orders:

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, all registered eligible voters may apply to vote by Absentee Ballot for the June 23, 2020 elections. Voters affected by COVID-19, including the risk of contracting the virus, should check the box “Temporary Illness” as the reason for requesting an Absentee Ballot. The definition has been temporarily expanded to include those affected by COVID-19 and/or the potential of contracting the virus.

You can complete the request for an Absentee Ballot online at: nycabsentee.com

If you are not comfortable with computers, we encourage you to call: 1-866-VOTE-NYC (1-866-868-3692)

You should request the Absentee Ballot as soon as possible. The last day to submit the requests is June 16 (online, by phone or postmarked by mail.)

The completed Absentee Ballots must be postmarked by Monday, June 22.

Note: If there is not a State or Federal primary in your district, you will not receive a ballot.
