James Forman Jr. on Ending Mass Incarceration

On December 10, 2018, we were fortunate to have James Forman, Jr., a professor at Yale Law School, join us to explore the complex relationship between race, class, and the American criminal justice system, and discuss and signed his best-selling and Pulitzer Prize-winning book, Locking Up Our Own: Crime and Punishment in Black America.

Sharing his experience as a former public defender, he addressed how we can help end this era of mass incarceration, its disproportionate impact on people of color, and how we can impact bail reform in New York State – a real possibility now that Democrats control the state senate.
