Rabbi Buchdahl: I’m Voting for Israel Today

January 14, 2015 | General News

Government elections in Israel are approaching in March. But this year, every Jew in the world can cast a vote to influence the life of Israel.  Approximately every five years, the World Zionist Congress (WZC) holds an election and every Jew in the world is allowed to make their vote count.

Join me today in helping support Reform values, women’s rights and religious pluralism by voting for ARZA, the Reform Jewish platform, in the WZC election that has just begun.  The previous WZC election resulted in the allocation of millions of dollars annually to important Reform causes in Israel including Reform synagogues and kibbutzim.  As Jews living outside of Israel voting in the WZC election is one of the best ways we can support progressive religious values and life in Israel.

Voting is easy and takes less than two minutes. Vote online now.  There is a $10 fee ($5 for those under 30), which covers the administrative costs of this election.  Remember to vote for ARZA.

Please share this with your Jewish family and friends and encourage them to vote—the election is open until April 30.

After you vote email us at XX to let us know you voted.  We won’t publicize your name but we will count you in our tally of all of us at Central voting in the election.  Our goal is to have 1,000 Central members votes by February 15th and 1800 by the end of the election.  We cannot do this without you; help us reach this milestone today, help us support Israel.

With shalom,

Rabbi Angela W. Buchdahl
