Central Synagogue Staff Takes On the #IceBucketChallenge for ALS

August 14, 2014 | General News

Part 1: Zachary Rolf

Central Synagogue teens Matthew Charles Ezersky and Clare Steinman challenged Zach Rolf, Director of Teen & Family Engagement, to take the Ice Bucket Challenge, which is sweeping the country raising awareness and funds for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, more commonly known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Zach took the challenge on Thursday morning on our Community House roof!

Part 2: LCLJ Educators

Next up was our team of Lese Center for Living Judaism Educators: Amy Benarroch, Erin Bouchard, Sean Carlin, Becca Huntting, Zach Plesent, and Rebecca Powell.

Part 3: Nat Williams, Elizabeth Brown, and Rabbi Lorge

Just in time for Shabbat, our educators nominated Rabbi Ari Lorge, Communications Manager Elizabeth Brown, and Maintenance team member Nat Williams.  It was a little chillier on Friday morning, but they made Central proud!

Part 4: Rabbi Buchdahl, Beth Woloff, and Robert Alexander

Beth Woloff, Director of Operations & Events, and Robert Alexander from our Maintenance team were lucky with a warm morning—and lots of ice! Rabbi Buchdahl had to take a rain check, so Beth was a good sport and took the extra bucket.
