Central Conversations

January 1, 2014 | General News

As Central Synagogue continues to innovate and push the boundaries of existing models of congregational life, we would like to tell you about an exciting new initiative: Central Conversations.

Central Conversations is a small-groups initiative with the ultimate goal of providing every congregant with an opportunity to be part of a community within our broader community. These small groups will pursue Jewish learning, engaging dialogue, community connection and personal investigation. Our vision is that eventually every member of Central will also be a member of a small 8–10 person micro-community that meets regularly to engage in essential conversations and questions.

This month we begin piloting eight such groups, which will meet twice a month for four months. Each of these initial groups shares something in common, whether it is geographic location in the city or life stage, and each group will be convened and moderated by a fellow lay leader. We know we have a lot to learn from this initial pilot and hope to take the lessons from this first cohort and, over time, continue to grow.

If you have an interest in joining Central Conversations in the future , please click here to let us know.
