As Executive Director, Marcia Caban works in close partnership with Central’s Senior Rabbi and Board of Trustees overseeing all of the professional and business management functions of the synagogue. This includes a wide range or responsibilities from managing the synagogue’s financials, human resources, communications, development, operations and more. She feels grateful for the terrific partnership she has with senior leaders across Central and her amazing team, and deep gratitude for Central’s Presidents and Trustees who provide guidance and support. Previously, she had a distinguished 24-year career at American Express, serving as a Vice President and General Manager for several areas of the company with a focus on business development. Her nonprofit experience includes board leadership for the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and NYC & Company. And, she served as Chief of Business Development at Neighborhood Trust Financial Partners a non-profit that aims to increase financial empowerment for low- and moderate- income individuals and families. Marcia has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband Noel, a visual artist and teacher.
