As Executive Director, Marcia Caban wears many hats. She works in close partnership with Central’s Senior Rabbi and Board of Trustees to manage synagogue operations and strategic planning and help Central achieve its goals and mission. Prior to joining Central, Marcia was Chief of Business Development at Neighborhood Trust Financial Partners, a New York City-based non-profit that aims to increase financial empowerment for low- and moderate- income individuals and families. Previously, she had a distinguished 24-year career at American Express, serving as a Vice President and General Manager for several areas of the company.
Marcia has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business. She has served on the boards of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and NYC & Company. Marcia lives in Brooklyn with her husband Noel, a visual artist and teacher.
