Central Synagogue is a membership-based community. Our members have a voice in shaping this community, and demonstrate their commitment to its future, to the future of Reform Judaism, and to progressive Jewish values in the world.
Central Synagogue is an inclusive and welcoming community. We encourage participation from all who seek a connection to Jewish life and want to be part of our sacred community regardless of religious background, race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, ability, age, sexual orientation and gender identity. In order to best meet the needs of our community, we limit our membership to 2,600 households. To have your name added to our waiting list, please fill out the form below. We will contact you as space becomes available—we are typically able to extend an invitation to join within 18–24 months.
We encourage and welcome the larger community to engage with us. Much of our programming is open to all, including Shabbat worship, adult education, and social justice opportunities. We invite you to explore our calendar and experience the Central Synagogue community.
Central Synagogue doesn’t currently offer a special membership category for our virtual out-of-town community. If you fall into this category, we would invite you to join our waitlist for regular membership, or to continue to be a part of our virtual community for which no membership is required.
The goal of the Central Synagogue community is to facilitate the creation of relationships: with each other, with our clergy, and with Judaism.

Family membership includes High Holy Days tickets for all children ages 3–26 and eligibility for LCLJ and NS enrollment.
There is an automatic 50% reduction of dues for households in which the primary member is under 30. If you fall in this category and don’t see it reflected on your dues statement, please let us know.
