Reading Art with Rabbi Sarah Berman - Sold Out!

Fridays, November 4–December 16, 2022, 10:30 am–12:00 pm

In Person

Have you ever looked at a work of art and wondered what it means? Have you ever considered how works of art might teach us more about our Jewish traditions? Has a work of art ever made you look at yourself differently? In Rabbi Sarah Berman’s brand-new class, you will get to explore the many levels of meaning in various works of art. Meeting weekly at The Met, we will be each other's teachers as we “read” various paintings and sculptures to uncover deeper levels of meaning. This class will require you to be an active participant, so come ready to question, opine, and explore.

“As someone who doesn't usually like history, Rabbi Berman makes historical facts interesting. I really enjoy her classes because she is a gifted teacher.” - A Former Student
