Shira Kobren Wasserman is a New York City-based performer and educator whose body of work spans stage, film, tv, commercials, recorded albums, and, of course, classrooms. She is both an actress and a singer, and is the front-woman and songwriter for her kid-friendly, indie rock band, “Shira & Friends.”
Aside from performing with “Shira & Friends,” Shira also frequently leads family programs in different synagogues, community centers, and museums all over the New York area. She has led programs covering topics ranging from Jewish holidays, to Hebrew language, to music. In all of her work, Shira relies heavily on her background as an actress, singer, and songwriter to bring her lessons and programs to life interactively and creatively.
Shira received her BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and received a minor in Jewish History and Civilization from NYU as well.
