Nancy Chemtob

Trustee


Nancy Chemtob has been a member of Central since 1996. She is a prominent matrimonial attorney and founder of Chemtob Moss Forman & Beyda, one of New York’s most highly regarded matrimonial and family law firms. With her expertise, philanthropy, and community involvement, Nancy excels in her field while positively impacting lives. Her firm focuses on securing favorable settlements for clients through negotiation, mediation and litigation. Nancy is always mindful of ensuring her clients' long-term well-being.

Throughout her career, Nancy has played a pivotal role in shaping New York State family law through groundbreaking cases, significantly influencing legal precedents. She is sought after by prestigious institutions, teaching at the University of Miami School of Law, as guest lecturer at Harvard Law School, and serving as a mock trial judge at Yale University. At Central Nancy she serves on the Legal & Risk committee and the Child Safety Committee.

In addition to her board membership at Central Synagogue, Nancy actively participates on boards including The David Lynch Foundation,  Mount Sinai Hospital Children's Center Foundation, The Family Justice Law Center and Mount Sinai’s Child Psychiatry Advisory Board

Nancy holds degrees from Syracuse University and the University of Miami School of Law. She enjoys skiing, reading, meditating, golf, and cherishes time with her husband, three sons and two dogs.
