Lyndsey Anderson joins Central Synagogue as Director of Membership and Salesforce, bringing two decades of experience in visitor and member engagement across cultural, educational, and nonprofit institutions. She most recently led Visitor & Member Experience at the Jewish Museum, where she focused on building welcoming, accessible environments, strengthening member relationships, and supporting front-facing teams in delivering inclusive service.
Lyndsey’s commitment to service and connection is rooted in her time in the U.S. Army, where she served with the Iowa National Guard and deployed to Iraq in 2003–2004. There, she worked closely with local communities and oversaw reconstruction efforts, an experience that sparked her lasting interest in culture, history, and the human stories that shape them. She went on to earn degrees in Art History and Anthropology from the University of Iowa, followed by graduate degrees in Museum Studies at New York University and a Master of Science in Education from Bank Street College.
Her career spans museums, education, and nonprofit leadership, including roles in education, accessibility programming, and work with America Needs You supporting first-generation college students through mentorship and professional development. Across each role, she has remained committed to expanding access, reducing barriers, and fostering a sense of belonging.
Outside of work, Lyndsey enjoys exploring New York City’s food scene with her husband, visiting museums and playgrounds with their toddler, and spending time with their rescue cats. Originally from Iowa, she values both the energy of city life and the quiet calm of the Catskills where she spends her downtime.
