Rabbi April Davis joined Central in 2015 after being ordained that same year by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York. During her time in rabbinical school, she served congregation Beth Yehuda in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, and Temple Micah in Washington, DC. She also served as a chaplain intern in the Palliative Care Center at Mount Sinai Hospital. She was a Tisch Fellow. Before becoming a rabbi, Rabbi Davis taught English literature at an independent boarding school and earned a master’s of divinity degree from Harvard Divinity School.
Rabbi Davis is passionate about teaching and learning, as well as exploring the wisdom and practice of Judaism with people from all walks of life. She is Editor of the supplement to “L’chol Z’man v’Eit, a Lifecycle Guide for Reform Clergy.” Originally from Iowa, she lives in Manhattan with her wife and daughter.
