Jews and Boos: Ghosts and Spirits in Jewish Lore

Thursday, May 2, 2024, 6:00–7:00 pm

In Person (Community House) & Virtual (Zoom)

Judaism is known for its ambiguity regarding life after death. Instead of focusing on the soul and The-World-to-Come, we prioritize rituals of remembrance like sitting shiva and participating in services like our upcoming Passover Yizkor. Jewish folklore, however, is filled with stories of ghosts, spirits, and other similar phenomena. Allow Rabbi Rachael Pass to be your “ghost host” as you delve into the Jewish spirit realm, exploring lore about dybbuks, ibburs, the ancient rabbis' practices of necromancy, and famous Jewish spirits.
