Join with hundreds of other Jews to serve our NYC community this Martin Luther King Day. As part of UJA-Federation’s “Time For Good” MLK Day of Service, Central members will come together to work on two projects:
Open to adults and kids 10+ with a parent
9:00 am - 12:00 pm • PS 194 M
Help PS 194 M prepare their library for a remodel. This library is currently being dismantled and the books are being distributed to classrooms throughout the school, but everything is out of order! Volunteers of all ages are needed to look up reading levels of books, label the books, and sort them by level so that each room can have their own supply of books. Work alongside your children on this project for book lovers, organizers, and research mavens.
Open to teens 15+ and adults
11:30 am - 2:45 pm • Volunteers will first meet at JCC Harlem at 318 W. 118th St then travel to another location on the West Side for the carnival. A UJA representative will notify you via email with the exact location one week prior to the event.
The Police Athletic League, together with the NYPD and the law enforcement community, provides opportunities for local NYC youth to learn and grow into productive members of society. Volunteers will help facilitate a carnival and MLK Day-themed art projects for community children ages 5-12.
