Molly is so excited to join the LCLJ team this year! Originally from Warren, New Jersey, Molly graduated from Tufts University in 2016 with a B.A. in American Studies and a focus on institutions and power. Molly has a passion for social justice work, education, and Jewish community building. While at Tufts, Molly was a mentor for Strong Women Strong Girls, an after-school program that empowers elementary and middle school age girls to learn how to value their bodies and opinions as young women. She also worked as an educator at Solar Youth, a non-profit based in New Haven, Connecticut, that teaches both leadership and environmental science to young people in the area. Molly grew up feeling very connected to her family’s synagogue, finding warmth, community, and a deep love of learning in Hebrew School. Having been an actively engaged member of NFTY-NE in high school, Molly continued her involvement in Jewish life while in college, serving as the Holiday co-chair on the Hillel board and helping to create an alternate space for Jewish students on campus outside of Hillel. Apart from this work, Molly served as one of the co-presidents of the Tufts Labor Coalition and lead backpacking trips for incoming freshmen as a part of Tufts Wilderness Orientation. This past year, Molly served as a Team Leader for a City Year team at an elementary school in Long Island City, Queens. As a Team Leader, Molly had the opportunity to continue working with students while also developing her skills as a manager. In her free time, Molly loves to sing and play guitar, box, dance, and travel when she can. Molly is looking forward to joining the Central Synagogue community!
