Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Jenna began her Jewish education at Congregation Emanu El. Her involvement in the synagogue and its youth group, TEFTY, spurred her passion for NFTY - and she later became the Religious and Cultural Vice President of the NFTY-TOR region (2007-2008). Many summers were spent at the URJ’s Greene Family Camp and Kutz Camp, or dabbling in other Judaic adventures such as the Maccabi Games.
Jenna received a BFA in Theatre Performance from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln in 2012. She has spent the past four years in New York. Her theatre background led her to teach preschool music and dance at various facilities throughout the boroughs. Jenna is a former URJ Kesher Birthright Trip Leader and was previously a member of the Brooklyn Heights Synagogue family – teaching 3rd, 5th and 6th grades as well as leading their theatre programming. Jenna has worked with CRuSTY, Congregation Rodeph Sholom’s youth group, and is currently a member of CRS on the Upper West Side.
Jenna is thrilled to be heading up music, t’filah and all Shabbat programs for the LCLJ – including the brand new LCLJ Shabbat program offered as a supplement to LCLJ weekdays for families who would like to learn and pray together on Saturday mornings.
