Jacob is thrilled to join the LCLJ as a Full-time Educator. Proudly from New Rochelle, NY, Jacob grew up at Sinai Free Synagogue in the neighboring town of Mount Vernon. In January 2016, Jacob earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science all of 13 blocks up Lexington Avenue at Hunter College. Having had time in both government and advocacy, as a legislative aide in the New York State Assembly and a research assistant for former Israeli Minister of Justice and Minister of Foreign Affairs Yossi Beilin, Jacob was able to connect these experiences to his passion for Jewish community life as a Goldman Fellow with the American Jewish Committee in 2015. From 2014-2016, Jacob taught a variety of grade levels at Sinai Free Synagogue in Mount Vernon, where he was once a student, and at Temple Israel of New Rochelle. In addition, he did engagement and outreach work over the 2015-2016 school year for Base Hillel, a young adult Jewish community organization. Jacob plays lots of basketball, both indoors and out, guitar, and enjoys attending events and classes around New York. He looks forward to meeting you!
